ISLAMABAD, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday called for anti-terror cooperation with neighbouring Afghanistan days after a terrorist suicide bombing killed over 80 people and injured nearly 300.
The Islamic State or Daesh had claimed responsibility for Saturday's attack in a procession of the Hazara community. Almost all victims were civilians and youth.
"Pakistan remains strongly committed to deepening cooperation with Afghanistan in fighting the scourge of terrorism, which is a common enemy," Nawaz Sharif told Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in a telephone conversation, the PM office said.
"The Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan over the dastardly terrorist attacks in Kabul," a statement from the PM said.
He strongly condemned this brutal act of terrorism and extended deepest sympathies and prayers to all the families who lost their loved ones in this heinous act, and wished early recovery for those who have been injured.
