News Story: China military activity in West Philippine (South China) Sea ahead of court ruling

Tensions in South China Sea (West Philippine Sea) have been rising ahead of verdict due on July 12 on territorial dispute between China and Philippines.

China is expected to hold naval drills around the disputed islands in the South China Sea, the Chinese maritime safety administration said.

In a brief statement the Chinese said the drills would take place from 5 to 11 July and gave coordinates covering an area from the east of China’s Hainan island down to and including the Paracels.
