DHAKA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshi police has detained over 5,000 people in the first two days of the ongoing week-long nationwide anti-militant crackdown which began Friday.
Police in a statement Sunday said 2,132 people including 48 militants across the country were detained as part of the drive in the last 24 hours till 6:00 a.m. (local time) Sunday.
Police earlier detained 3,192 people including 37 suspects in the first 24 hours of the clampdown against militants.
