News Report: Around 250 Chinese Soldiers Enter Indian Territory, Leave Hours Later

There had been another incident of incursion from the Chinese PLA, when 250 of them entered Indian territory but left after few hours.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — In a recent incident around 250 soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of China intruded into Indian territory after crossing the Line of Actual Control at Yangtze near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on June 9.

According to defense ministry sources, soldiers stayed in Indian territory for three hours and then went back to their positions across the border in China.

"These incidents of incursions are not a new thing along the India-China border. This usually happens due to differences in perception along the boundary. But this generally happens when there is some tension brewing between India and China on some issues. The current intrusion could be due to the Malabar exercise which India, Japan and the US are performing in the Pacific Ocean close to the disputed South China Sea," Major General (Rtd) R K Arora told Sputnik.

This is the first known incident of intrusion by the Chinese Army this year in the Tawang region, which China claims as its own territory. India and China have had a long standing border dispute and have been trying to solve it through the Special Representative talks and till the final settlement of the border issue both the sides have agreed to maintain a status quo along the Line of Actual Control.
