KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Some five police personnel were killed in a suspected insider attack in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar overnight, an official said on Tuesday.
"Five border police members died after one of their comrades turned his weapon at a security checkpoint in Spinboldak district Monday night," a provincial official told Xinhua.
The policeman behind the shooting fled the scene shortly after the incident, the source said anonymously.
Zia Durrani, the provincial police spokesman, confirmed the incident.
