KABUL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- About 36 militants had been killed during airstrikes and clashes with security forces across Afghanistan within the last 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"Some 25 militants were also wounded and five others were captured by Afghan National Security Forces during the latest military operations that were launched in 12 of Afghanistan's 34 provinces," the ministry said in a statement.
The Afghan troops supported by the army's artillery and air force also found and seized weapons and ammunition besides defusing several rounds of landmines and roadside bombs, said the statement.
