UNITED NATIONS, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The international community should make efforts to improve the security situation in Afghanistan in order to avoid a reversal of the situation, said a Chinese envoy here on Tuesday.
Liu Jieyi, China's permanent representative to the UN, made the appeal at a Security Council meeting on Afghanistan.

Parties concerned should also formulate counter-terrorism measures to help the Afghan government to tackle challenges of terrorism, trans-boundary crimes and drug smuggling, he added.
