News Report: DF-26 missile threatens Guam, US warships at sea

With an attack range of 3,000-4,000 kilometers, China's DF-26 intermediate-range ballistic missile, shown to the public at Beijing's military parade on Sept. 3 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of World War II, can hit US military bases in Guam, not to mention warships, according to the state-run Reference News.

Developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the DF-26 is considered China's second-generation anti-ship ballistic missile after the DF-21D, which was also on display at the parade. Richard Fisher, an American expert in China's military development, said in a piece for the UK-based IHS Jane's Defence Weekly that the DF-26 was said to have anti-ship capability during the event.
