News Story: After N Korean missle tests, Japan questions US intel


United States' intellegence questioned by Japan in lieu of North Korea's recent missle tests, reports Tokyo-based Nikkei Asian review.

North Korean authorities claimed that they successfully tested submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM). North Korea's launch tests will lead to an uintensification in Japanese military defense since Japan is within firing range if the report is valid.

Japan and the US are currently having a more difficult time keeping tabs on North Korea since it is has been launching intercontenital ballistic missiles. SLBM are hard to detect when fired in the ocean. North Korea's military action could be detected, however, if Japan and United States could strengthen their survilliance capabilities, said one unnamed Japanese military professional.
