Brunei: 16TH CHOD SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 6 November 2014 - The 16th Chiefs of Defence Conference (CHOD) was successfully held in Bandar Seri Begawan on 3 to 6 November 2014 where CHOD leaders and representatives had various interactive discussions.

Overall, the core value of CHOD lies in the opportunity to strengthen military-to-military relationships and enhance their ability to work together, as well as exchange views on matters of mutual interest within a multilateral setting.

The CHOD 2014 provided many benefits to the 26 countries attending it. Sharing information and views on many issues generated close and multilateral cooperation that lead to good relations among the armed forces in the Asia Pacific. The remarks were made by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohammad Tawih Bin Abdullah at a media conference this afternoon.

Meanwhile the Commander of the United States Pacific Command, USPACOM, Admiral Samuel J. Locklear said the Royal Brunei Armed Forces has hosted one of the most successful CHOD Conference so far and praised the hospitality and cooperation extended to the participating delegates.
