News Story: New Zealand to Arm Frigates With MBDA's Sea Ceptor

LONDON — The Royal New Zealand Navy has become the first export customer for MBDA’s new Sea Ceptor air defense missile system.

New Zealand in October nominated the weapon as its preferred choice to provide maritime local area air defense. Now the two sides have confirmed the deal with a contract signing announcement.

The system will be installed on two Anzac-class frigates as part of an upgrade being undertaken by the New Zealanders.
