News Story: Russia would like to supply 2S19 MSTA-S 152mm self-propelled howitzer to India

Russian State arms exporter Rosoboronexport is looking to expand cooperation with India and is focusing on joint production with the country. The company is expected to discuss the progress of the tender to supply 152mm self-propelled artillery systems 2S19 MSTA-S.

The Russian 2S19 MSTA-S is currently under trial tests in India. The howitzer’s chassis has a high level of commonality for components and units with the chassis of the T-90S MBT, whose licenced production has already been mastered at India’s Heavy Vehicles Factory in Avadi.

The 2S19 MSTA-S is a 152mm self-propelled howitzer designed and manufactured by the Russian Company Uraltransmash of Ekaterinberg. It entered service with the Russian Army in 1989.
