Air Marshal Geoff Brown AO |
The Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Geoff Brown AO is today holding his biennial Chief of Air Force Symposium in Melbourne.
The theme, Air Power in a National Maritime Strategy includes guest speakers Major General Ng Chee Meng, Chief of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and General Herbert Carlisle, Commander Pacific Air Forces in the United States Air Force (USAF).
Air Marshal Brown thanked his colleagues for attending. “This year, like other years, I am very pleased and gratified to see so many of my colleagues from around the world… prepared to travel to Avalon and to take time in very busy schedules to include this symposium.”
Explaining the theme, Air Marshal Brown said “At its core, Australia’s maritime strategy is inherently joint. But joint is a synergetic effect, not a war fighting capability. The single Services and the individual war fighting capabilities underpin our Joint Maritime Strategy. Air power is therefore an essential element of our national security strategy and therefore our maritime strategy.”
