RIMBA, Friday 7 Sept 2011 – As part of a regional cooperation, Brunei Darussalam continues to give its support to cause of peace and stability in the neighbouring state by deploying nine personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in the 9th International Monitoring Team (IMT) mission to oversee the ceasefire agreement between the Philippines government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
The latest contingent was led by 359 Lt Col(L) Spry bin Haji Serudi composed of 401 Maj (U) Akmalnizam bin Haji Sulaiman, 642 Maj Mohd Zyed Nazri bin Haji Abdullah, Superintendent Pg Muhaimin bin Pg Haji Mustapha, 739 Cpt Ade Roddiane bin Haji Mohd Rosdi, 10154 WO1 Yahmin Shah bin Haji Yahmad, 9614 WO2 (L) Jamil bin Haji Othman, 15993 Sgt(L) Johary bin Haji Mohd Salleh and 16203 Cpl Mohd Hasdi bin Mohd Said.
Prior to their departure, the soldiers were given an official send-off at a ceremony held at Hangar B of the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba. Present to attach armbands on each personnel was theDeputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat. Also present were the RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and Commissioner of Police, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu. The ceremony was witnessed by senior officers from the Ministry of Defence, RBAF officers, and family members.
