KUALA LUMPUR, Wednesday 12 Sept 2012 - The 9th ASEAN Air Cheifs Conference (AACC) has commenced its 3 day event today, attended by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Airforce, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Jofri bin Hj Abdullah. All 10 ASEAN Air Force chiefs gathered at Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to deliberate and exchange thoughts on this year’s theme ‘Strengthening Security Cooperation of ASEAN Air Forces towards ASEAN Community 2015: Education & Training’.
The Conference was concluded with the signing of the 9th AACC minutes, and later in the day, the Malaysian Defence Minister, Yang Berbahagia Dato' Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi held a group courtesy call with all 10 ASEAN Chiefs.
This year’s theme focused on how to further integrate as well as enhance cooperation and working relations among the ASEAN Air Forces in areas of education and training, and to align these efforts with the intent and work plans which were pertained within the past AACC’s as well as the previous ASEAN Defence Minister Meeting (ADMM) & ASEAN Chief of Defence Force Informal Meeting.(ACDFIM).
