SINGAPORE — The U.S. and Singapore committed June 2 to furthering cooperation on regional security issues. Renewed cooperation extends beyond Singapore to include support for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the 2005 Strategic Framework Agreement.

The comments were part of a joint statement issued by U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Singapore Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen at the 11th Asia Security Summit in Singapore.
