Brunei: EXERCISE HIKMAT BERSATU 4 LAUNCHES

BERAKAS GARRISON, Monday 23 April 2012 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) launched the fourth series of Exercise Hikmat Bersatu for 2012 this morning at the First Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force Parade Square in Berakas. The guest of honour at the launching ceremony was the Commander of RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

Exercise Hikmat Bersatu IV is an RBAF level exercise involving the RBAF services/unit such as the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Special Force Regiment (SFR), Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Regiment, Second Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles British Armed Forces, all Directorates and Departments within the Ministry of Defence.

The exercise will be conducted from 23 April to 3 May 2012 within Brunei Darussalam boundaries including Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and air space. Prior to launching, Commander RBAF inspected the mass parade that comprises about 3,000 RBAF personnel and the mass parade was commanded by Lt Colonel Khairil bin Haji Ismail.

The general aim of the exercise is to increase  implementation uniformity Military in combination level, to train ABDB planning and implement process intelligence to operational in Strategic Level and Tactical and to test RBAF Joint Task Force Procedure.  

This year Exercise Hikmat Bersatu IV / 2012 concept is Low Intensity Conflict fighting against terrorism in Negara Brunei Darussalam border.

The launching ceremony also saw the presentation of armband by the RBAF Commander to Colonel Pg Zulkifli bin Pg Haji Ismail, Commandant of TI RBAF as Exercise Director, Colonel BJ Rawat as Chief Exercise Planner, Colonel Pg Maiddin bin Pg Haji Said as Chief Umpire and Lt Colonel Rani bin Haji Bujang as Chief Enemy Planner.
