USA: Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake, Jr. To Travel to Tajikistan, India, and the Kyrgyz Republic


Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake, Jr. will travel to Tajikistan from March 23-28 to lead the United States delegation to the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA-V) in Dushanbe. While in Tajikistan, Assistant Secretary Blake will also hold meetings with a broad cross-section of Central Asian and other international government officials and with representatives from international financial institutions, multilateral institutions and NGOs.

Assistant Secretary Blake will then travel to New Delhi, India from March 29-30, where he will meet with representatives from the Government of India to consult on a variety of bilateral and regional issues and participate in the launch of the Open Government Platform, a portal for public access to government data that the U.S. and India have developed together and will share with other countries. He will also participate in a business event. Assistant Secretary Blake will then visit Bishkek from April 1-3, where he will attend a meeting of the Chiefs of Mission in Central Asia to discuss regional security and integration. He will also have meetings with Kyrgyz Government on a broad range of issues.
