Prime Minister of New Zealand, H.E. John Key, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Bronagh Key will pay a State visit to India from June 26-30, 2011 at the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. New Zealand Trade Minister Hon. Tim Groser and a business delegation will also accompany the Prime Minister.
During the visit, Prime Minister Key will call on the President, Vice-President and hold talks with Prime Minister. EAM Mr. S M Krishna and Leader of the Opposition Smt. Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting dignitary. PM Key will also address a Business Lunch Session organized by the CII. He will next visit Agra to see the Taj Mahal and Mumbai, where he will meet the Governor of Maharashtra as well as visit a Bollywood studio.
India’s relations with New Zealand are warm and cordial. The visit of Prime Minister Key will provide an opportunity for the leaders of the two countries to exchange views and perspectives on regional, multilateral as well as bilateral issues of mutual interest. The visit is expected to give a further fillip to our two way trade which has grown from USD 165 million in 2003-04 to USD 755 million in 2009-10. A bilateral FTA is currently under negotiation.
