Control Yuan members inspect navy force in Keelung and understand the training status quo in case of war

Chia-hung, Chuang, Keelung, Military News Agency)Control Yuan members of the Committee on National Defense and Intelligence Affairs inspected navy force in Keelung today to understand their training status quo in case of war. The officers and soldiers’ efforts and devotion for wartime trainings are highly recognized which guarantee common people’s living and work in peace and the country’s perpetual development.

In the company of other Control Yuan members Chang-ping Chao, Fu-dien Lee, Yung-kuan Ker, Bing-nan Lee, Yung-hsiang Chen, Hui-chun Chien-Lin, the convening member of the Committee on National Defense and Intelligence Affairs, Chien-min Chen took the lead to inspect the navy force in Keelung this morning. Deputy Minister of MND, Nien-tzu Yang was present on behalf of the Minister of MND, Hua-chu Kao. Except for receiving the briefing of troops’ mission, the CY members also visited the Tactical Intelligence Center of the 1st Hai Feng Squadron and Fengyang FF-934 Submarine to further understand navy forces’ commanding and combat operation in case of war. They also had an informal discussion with key cadres of related units then made several suggestions.

After inspecting the navy force’s training for wartime in Keelung, all CY members approved officers and soldiers’ team work and their skilful demonstration in the drill with one accord.

According to CY convening member Chien-min Chen, due to the navy forces in Keelung are under the jurisdiction of seven different units, it is necessary for them to be commanded and acted via one authority and support each other in case of war to win the battle. Therefore, all commanding officers of various units should set up a good example for officers and soldiers during peace time which shall bring the brilliant success. According to CY member Yung-kuan Ker, there is a big difference between the simulation combat and the real one, hence, combining war and training is the key factor of bring the soldiers’ strength into full play during wartime.  All units of navy forces should strive to cultivate soldiers’ talents via long-tem training and establish their self-defence strength and forces so the training efficacy can be deeply rooted.
