USA: Assistant Secretary Campbell's Travel to New Zealand and Australia

Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt M. Campbell will travel to Christchurch, New Zealand and Canberra, Australia February 20-24, 2011.


In Christchurch February 21-23, Assistant Secretary Campbell will meet with New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully and participate in the U.S.-New Zealand Partnership Forum. The Forum brings together government and private sector leaders from both countries to discuss ways the U.S. and New Zealand can work together, both bilaterally and in the Asia-Pacific. Assistant Secretary Campbell will also participate in a trilateral discussion with Australia and New Zealand on regional issues of mutual interest.


Assistant Secretary Campbell arrives in Canberra on February 23 and will meet with Australian ministers and senior officials including Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd and Defense Minister Stephen Smith to further relations with one of the United States’ closest strategic allies. He will depart Australia for Washington, D.C. on February 24.
