Indonesia and Japan to expand defence cooperation

According to the “AntaraNews” website, the Indonesian and Japanese governments are discussing greater military cooperation.
At the moment only a small number of officers have been involved in the exchange programme, but they hope to increase this so that many Indonesian officers would be pursuing studies in Japan, mainly at the Yokoshuka Military Academy.
Indonesia also wants to expand cooperation in other areas such as joint military exercises.
