MUARA, Tuesday, 2 December 2014 – Enhancing bilateral defence relations and sharing views on issues of mutual concerns with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were the highlights of the annual military exchange visit by the China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to Brunei Darussalam.
The high level delegation visit, hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), comprised of eight military members led by Major General Xiao Yunhong, the Commander of Guangxi Military Area, Guangzhou Military Command, PLA.
The Commander of Guangxi Military Area, Guangzhou Military Command, PLA Major General Xiao Yunhong paid a courtesy call on the RBN Commander, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Haji Mohd Tamit at the RBN Headquarters yesterday. During the call, the PLA delegation were presented with an overview of the RBN’s organisational structure, roles and functions, followed by a roundtable discussion between both sides. The PLA delegation also boarded KDB DARULEHSAN for a ship tour.
The PLA delegation arrived on 30 November 2014 for a two-day official visit and will depart Brunei Darussalam today. During their stay, they also had the opportunity to visit places of interest in the Sultanate.
