News Story: Myanmar's parliament approves bill repealing the Emergency Provisions Act

YANGON, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The parliament of Myanmar approved on Friday a bill to repeal the 66- year old Emergency Provisions Act, official media reported Saturday.

The Emergency Provisions Act had been enacted since 1950 when the country's domestic conflict emerged along with the country's independence.
