News Story: Indonesia declares to run for UN Security Council non-permanent seat

Hanoi (VNA) – Indonesia has announced the country will run for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2019-2020.

In a speech on September 23 at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the UN should reform to become stronger and more suitable with challenges and the situation in the 21 st century.

He also stressed that the UN should become a transparent, effective, responsible, capable organisation and it should also play a central role of the world power.
