News Story: Indonesia, US sign bilateral deals worth 10 billion USD

Hanoi (VNA) – US Vice President Mike Pence announced on April 21 that 11 deals worth 10 billion USD were signed between American and Indonesian companies during his visit to Jakarta.

Of those, there is an agreement of Exxon Mobil selling liquefied natural gas to Indonesian state-owned energy company Pertamina. General Electric will provide technology for Indonesian power plants, while Lockheed Martin will supply new weapons systems for F-16 fighter jets.

During a meeting in Jakarta with leaders of businesses, Vice President Pence said he and Indonesian President Joko Widodo discussed measures to help US firms better their access to the Indonesian market.

The two sides agreed to remove barriers for companies seeking to invest in the Southeast Asian nation.
