SINGAPORE, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) conducted an air defence exercise entitled "Exercise Vigilant Shield 2016" on Monday, said the Ministry of Defence in a press release.
The ministry said the exercise demonstrated the Air Defence Task Force's capabilities in responding to potential air threats with a 24/7 networked air defence system.
Chief of Air Force Major-General Mervyn Tan visited the exercise at Singapore Air Traffic Control Center and witnessed the coordinated response to a simulated hijacked aircraft that was headed towards Singapore.
