Brunei: BRIDEX 2011 Welcoming Reception

The Empire Theater Jerudong, Monday, 4 July 2011 – The Third Brunei International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX) Conference 2011 Welcoming Reception was held at the The Empire Hotel and Country Club Theatre, Jerudong to start-off the BRIDEX Conference 2011 which is scheduled on the following day. The Welcoming Reception was hosted by the Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) of Defence, Haji Awang Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor, who expressed a warm welcome to all conference speakers and participants.

Among the distinguished guests who attended the Welcoming Reception was His Excellency Kim Taeyoung, the Senior Research Advisor of the Korean Institute of Defence Analyses and also Former Defence Minister of the Republic of Korea. He will be presenting his keynote address on Emerging Technologies and its Role in Future Security Challenges during the BRIDEX Conference 2011.

This year’s conference with the theme “Mapping Future Security and Technological Challenges”, is organised by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS), in association with the Ministry of Defence and is going to be held at the BRIDEX International Conference Centre, Jerudong. The one-day conference will have twelve prominent speakers of experts and practitioners in the field of military defence, security and related technologies. It is expected to bring together people from government, military and leading authorities to exchange views on current and future security challenges, the various technological solutions that can be adopted to address them.
